Developmental psychologist John Bowlby said that children need a secure base to grow up emotionally healthy. One of the ways to help foster stability in children is to practice traditions that give them a sense of identity and security.
Since it's family story month I encourage you to strengthen practices in your home that foster a sense of belonging and emotional security. Make a safe space for family discussions. Eat meals together. Have a family game night once a month.
Research shows these simple acts buffer kids against things like drug abuse and help build resilience.
